We started this year considering how God wants is to become spiritual people, and how this is God’s intention for everyone, everywhere This is not always obvious when looking at the world around us today, because mankind has drifted a long way from God’s intended purposes for him, and there have been some terrible consequences. But God’s purpose and power remain unchanged, and become instantly available to those who are prepared to make a leap of faith and to put their trust in Him.

For the Christian, being spiritual has a specific meaning which essentially means to become rightly related to God. When it comes to faith, it is not what you know, but who you know that matters most!Being right with God starts with accepting our personal need of a saviour, and finding that this saviour is Jesus Christ the Son of God who loved us and gave himself for us to die in our place. As one songwriter puts it,

‘Jesus has died and has risen again, pardon and peace to bestow Freely I trust Him from Sin’s guilty stain, Jesus saves me now!’

Being spiritual starts with a simple act of faith, but it grow to become much more than this, to become a lifetime occupation of knowing God.
